Your First Week Checklist: 10 Things to Do After Setup

TL;DR: You've set up EduSuite OS — now what? Follow this day-by-day checklist to make your first week smooth and productive. By Friday, your school will be fully operational.

Day 1: Foundation

☐ 1. Verify Your Student Data

  • Go to Students → All Students.
  • Spot-check 10-15 random student profiles.
  • Verify: names, classes, parent contacts, admission numbers.
  • Fix any errors now — it's easier with a fresh database.

☐ 2. Verify Your Staff Data

  • Go to Staff → All Staff.
  • Confirm teacher-to-class assignments are correct.
  • Ensure all teachers have valid email addresses.
  • Check that non-teaching staff have appropriate roles.

Day 2: Core Operations

☐ 3. Take Your First Attendance

  • Ask one teacher to mark attendance for their class.
  • Go to Attendance → Today's Log and verify it appears.
  • Confirm the dashboard updates with the attendance count.
  • If using QR codes, test the QR attendance flow.

☐ 4. Send Your First Announcement

  • Go to Communication → Announcements.
  • Create a test announcement: "Welcome to our new digital platform!"
  • Send it to one class first.
  • Verify it appears in the parent portal.

Day 3: Finance

☐ 5. Verify Fee Structures

  • Go to Finance → Fee Structure.
  • Confirm fee heads and amounts are correct for each class.
  • Check that due dates align with your academic calendar.
  • Test: Generate a fee receipt for one student.

☐ 6. Test Online Payment (if enabled)

  • Make a test payment of ₹1 / $1 using the payment gateway.
  • Verify the receipt generates automatically.
  • Check that the payment appears in Finance → Transactions.
  • Refund the test payment.

Day 4: Team Training

☐ 7. Train Your Teachers (30 min session)

Run a quick training session covering:

  • How to log in and navigate the dashboard
  • How to mark attendance (2 min demo)
  • How to create and assign homework
  • How to message parents
  • How to view their class timetable
Pro Tip

Pro Tip: Record the session so absent teachers can watch later.

Cover:

  • Fee collection workflow
  • Student enrollment process
  • Generating receipts and certificates
  • Handling parent inquiries
